About This Hosta
Sieboldiana 'Elegans' is a classic hosta that many people call Elephant Ears. It has huge blue-grey, rounded leaves. They become heavily textured and corrugated as they mature. The slug resistant blue leaf colour is best achieved in early morning sun. White flowers bloom in clusters on tall scapes in midsummer. Leaves emerge a frosty blue and turn smoky blue as the glaucous coating fades. By late summer the leaves are a dark green.
