Mandarin Lights’ is a deciduous azalea from the extremely hardy Northern Lights series, developed by the University of Minnesota for cold climates. In mid-spring, the plant produces abundant clusters of bright mandarin-orange, lightly fragrant flowers that appear on the branches before the foliage fully emerges. The vivid orange blooms create a striking display in woodland gardens and mixed shrub borders. Fresh green foliage follows the flowers and may develop attractive reddish or purple tones in autumn.

Growing and Maintenance Tips
Grow ‘Mandarin Lights’ in full sun to part shade (best flowering with sun) in acidic, well-drained, organic-rich soil. Water regularly during establishment and during dry periods; consistent moisture is important, but avoid wet sites. Mulch to keep roots cool and evenly moist. Prune immediately after flowering, as buds form on old wood. Hardy and dependable, this azalea excels in cold-climate gardens with woodland-style conditions.
