Periwinkle

Vinca minor 'Illumination' (Lesser Periwinkle) is a low growing evergreen perennial with brightly variegated foliage and violet-blue flowers. Emerging chartreuse with dark green edges, the leaves mature to a rich golden colour before softening to a cream colour. It is beautiful when combined with hostas or other shade perennials in a planter.

Growing and Maintenance Tips

Vinca 'Illumination' grows best in average to dry well drained soil in morning or late afternoon sun. It does not do well in heavy shade. It spreads by rooting as it travels along the ground. It is not as aggressive a spreader as the species.
