Barrenwort

One of the most floriferous Epimedium selections out there, according to the hybridizer, Tony Avent. Golden yellow flowers have small rose sepals, although at a glance they appear yellow. Its deep green lance-shaped leaves have some sporadic spotting. This variety is a season extender: it flowers later than other offerings and has the longest inflorescence of any we grown. A beautiful choice for dry shade.

Growing and Maintenance Tips

Epimediums are easy to grow in good, well drained soil in part to full shade. They will flower better in part shade. They prefer soil with plenty of organic matter and even moisture. Once established Epimediums will tolerate more dryness. They will also tolerate competition from tree roots and are an excellent choice for dry shade. The plants are semi-evergreen to evergreen. In the spring cut the foliage to the ground if it has been damaged during the winter.
