Tickseed

UpTick™ Red is a compact, long-blooming coreopsis with serious colour punch. It features rich cherry-red blooms with a contrasting golden eye, held above tidy, mounded foliage. It flowers early and just keeps going—perfect for brightening borders, containers, and sunny landscape plantings. The first flush of flowers are nearly solid dark red. Successive blooms have golden yellow tips. This is a tough, heat- and drought-tolerant perennial once established, with excellent garden performance and strong pollinator appeal. Its neat habit means little to no flopping, even through peak summer.

Growing and Maintenance Tips

Coreopsis ‘UpTick™ Red’ is an easy-care perennial that performs best in full sun and well-drained soil. Plant in a bright location to maintain a compact habit and strong flowering; overly rich or wet soils can reduce longevity, especially in winter. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish roots, then reduce irrigation. Once established, it is drought tolerant. Deadheading spent blooms will keep plants tidy and encourage continued flowering through summer. Avoid heavy fertilizing, as average garden soil produces the best form and colour. Cut plants back to a rosette in late fall.
