Chelone is a native plant that is a much admired August bloomer in our perennial border. Its lush green foliage is always attractive and its long lasting pink flowers are attractive to butterflies. The rosy pink flowers of 'Hot Lips' are a deeper colour than the native wildflower and the glossy foliage is bronzy in the spring.

Growing and Maintenance Tips
Chelone is a moisture loving plant that does best near water or in a moist perennial border. Plant it in sun or partial shade in good soil enriched with additional compost. It can be pinched back in spring to reduce the height and keep it bushy.
Spring Opening and Garden Art Show
The first day of the 2024 garden season is Saturday, April 27th. This year we will continue with our regular hours of Wednesday to Sunday. Please note that during our Bloomfest Garden Art Show from July 20 to July 28 we are open every day.
