Yarrow

Achillea Firefly Red Pop is a bold, upright yarrow with large, flat flower clusters in a vivid cherry-red, each bloom accented with tiny yellow “eyes” that add sparkle from a distance. The finely textured, silvery-green foliage forms a tidy, sturdy clump that holds its shape well without flopping. Part of the Firefly series, this cultivar was bred for stronger stems, richer colour, and a more refined habit than older yarrows. It’s a standout in sunny borders, pollinator gardens, and cutting beds, and the flowers are excellent fresh or dried.

Growing and Maintenance Tips

Grow 'Firefly Red Pop' in full sun for the best colour and strongest stems. It prefers well-drained soil and is very tolerant of lean or sandy conditions—avoid rich, wet soils, which can cause floppy growth. Once established, it is drought tolerant and low maintenance,  Deadheading spent blooms will encourage continued flowering, and a light shear after the first flush can refresh the plant and promote a tidy second show. Deer and rabbits generally leave it alone, while bees and butterflies flock to it.
