About This Daylily

Daylily 'Shaka Zulu' is named for one of the strongest leaders of the Zulu Kingdom in Africa. This robust daylily produces very large, striking blossoms atop very sturdy, branched and heavily budded scapes. The flowers appear well above the foliage in midsummer and then again later in the season. Rich deep reddish purple flowers have a pale watermark above the showy lemon yellow throat and a contrasting wiry, white edge surrounding the pie crust ruffled petals. The broad, slightly pointed petals create a triangular flower form. This taller daylily is great for punctuating the middle to rear of the border where its unique blossoms are sure to be noticed.
