Availability of Grasses Throughout the Season

We try to maintain stock in all of the varieties listed in our catalogue, but please call ahead to confirm availability of both varieties and sizes if there are specific cultivars you are looking for. We can also special order (subject to availability) larger sizes of grasses for you. Special Orders require a deposit of 50%.

Many of the warm season grasses like Miscanthus remain dormant until the soil warms up. They will not be available at the nursery until later in May. Planting them too early, before the soil warms up enough to support their growth, can result in the plants rotting.

We also do not recommend planting warm season grasses after mid September at the latest. As the soil cools down the plants do not root as well and can be susceptible to winter kill. We also recommend a mulch on all grasses for their first winter.
