Sonic Bloom® Punch weigela is a compact plant with a lot of flower power. Its blooms are a rich punch-pink color and absolutely cover the foliage in the springtime. It takes a brief rest in early summer and reblooms through late summer and into fall. When blooms aren’t obscuring its foliage, you’ll see it has a pretty bronze tint. 'Sonic Bloom Punch' has a good growth rate and a  compact, upright, and mounded habit. It is a fabulous specimen in garden or container but is shown to best effect when grouped or massed and is especially nice in the front of mixed beds and borders.

Growing and Maintenance Tips

Weigela are fast growing, easy care shrubs that are adaptable to a range of soil conditions. They are happiest in average well drained soil in full sun, but will tolerate very light shade. They are  also somewhat tolerant of clay soil. They should be pruned after flowering to shape them. The shrub benefits from a rejuvenation pruning every few years.To do this, cut the oldest, biggest stems down to ground level in late winter. Never remove more than one third of the shrub in any year.
