A Bloomin' Easy® variety, Sorbaria Cherry On Top™ is an attractive deciduous shrub offering 3 seasons of interest. It is grown for its dramatic muliticoloured, fern-like foliage, beautiful summer blooms, and colourful fall fruits. In spring, the dense leaves emerge vivid pink to red and then turn chartreuse with bronze tips before maturing light green for summer. A heavy bloomer, the plant sets masses of showy pyramidal white flower plumes followed in fall by bright red seed pods. The seeds persist throughout winter, extending the season of interest, and providing hungry birds with an excellent food source. Both flowers and foliage are popular additions to floral arrangements, fresh and dried.

Growing and Maintenance Tips
False Spirea is a cold hardy and easy to grow, shrub that prefers a sunny to partly sunny location with average, organically rich, medium moist, well-draining soil. It is drought and heat tolerant, deer resistant, and pet friendly. Prune close to the ground in late winter to early spring to rejuvenate the plant. It spreads by underground runners but this selection is a moderate grower compared to tge species. It will spread as a groundcover over time making it excellent for slopes and areas where you want an attractive low maintenance plant.
