About This Hosta
Originated by Rick Goodenough of Massachusetts, 'Chanticleer' is a non-registered cultivar is a hybrid of H. 'Outrageous'. It is a large size hosta with intense green leaves that are slightly shiny and extremely puckered. The leaf surface is textured with big bumps and framed by an undulating margin. A thin coat of milky wax covers the leaf underside, which also flows part way up the center vein on the leaf top.
