Phlox paniculata Early Start Purple Eye

Summer Phlox

A profusion of fragrant, bright purple blossoms with white starburst centers are borne in clusters atop the clump of narrow, dark green leaves beginning in early summer. Its naturally shorter, densely branched habit means no staking is required to keep this beauty looking its best through the summer. Pollinators will be attracted to the nectar-rich purple and white bicolour blooms.

Growing and Maintenance Tips

Phlox needs rich, well drained soil that does not dry out to look its best. It is a heavy feeder so a fall mulch with compost is beneficial to keep up the organic level in the soil. The varieties we sell have mildew resistant but do not overcrowd this plant. It needs good air circulation.
