Blazing Star, Gayfeather

Liatris 'Floristan Violet' is a selection of a native North American wildflower. It has wands of bright violet-purple that open from top to bottom. It combines beautifully with Echinaceas adding a strong vertical accent to garden designs. It is an excellent cut flower and a favourite of butterflies.

Growing and Maintenance Tips

Liatris thrives in moist but well drained soil in full sun. They are drought tolerant once established. The roots are tuberous and can be lifted every three or four years in early fall, split and replanted.
