Lenten Rose

Helleborus 'Rio Carnival' bears large, single light yellow flowers with heavy burgundy red speckling. This colour really stands out in the garden. Hellebores are the harbingers of spring, blooming for many weeks starting as soon as the snow melts. This is the perfect plant for naturalizing in moist, woodland areas where its extensive root system will spread as far as it is allowed. The Honeymoon™ series showcases single-flowered selections of notable vigour. This is another highly desirable series developed by Hybridizer, Hans Hansen.

Growing and Maintenance Tips

Despite their reputation of being hard to grow, Hellebores are not fussy plants. Give them rich, moist organic soil and shade from hot afternoon sun during the summer. They can even tolerate short periods of drought. Hellebores are evergreen so, after the plants are actively growing trim, back any foliage that has been damaged in the winter. Hellebores are poisonous so do not consume any part of the plant.
