Siberian Bugloss

This stunning foliage perennial will be the star of the shade garden. Compared to its companion plant 'Jack of Diamonds', 'Queen of Hearts' has more heart-shaped leaves and more pronounced silver overlay with narrower bands of dark green veining. From mid to late spring, baby blue, forget-me-not type blossoms are held in tall clusters above the foliage.

Growing and Maintenance Tips

Brunnera is an easy care undemanding perennial that thrives in rich well drained garden soil in partial shade. It is not a fan of hot dry conditions but will take morning or late afternoon sun as long as the soil stays evenly moist. It seldom needs dividing. To keep the plant looking attractive shear the spent flower heads after flowering. Cut back the old foliage in the spring rather than in the fall; it will help to protect the crown during the winter. A winter mulch is also recommended.
