Heartleaf Brunnera

Brunnera 'Silver Heart' is similar to 'Looking Glass' with almost solid silver foliage and narrow green veins but the plants are more vigorous and exhibit greater heat tolerance during the summer. The leaves of 'Silver Heart' are very heavy and quite hairy. The beautiful cobalt blue flowers appear in early spring. This is a beautiful plant to use in a garden that will be viewed at night because the foliage really glows in the moonlight.

Growing and Maintenance Tips

Brunnera is an easy care undemanding perennial that thrives in rich well drained garden soil in partial shade. It is not a fan of hot dry conditions but will take morning or late afternoon sun as long as the soil stays evenly moist. It seldom needs dividing. To keep the plant looking attractive shear the spent flower heads after flowering.
