Ornamental Onion

'Bubble Bath' produces soft lavender flower clusters on strong stems above a mound of glaucous blue green foliage. The wide, linear leaves have a slight twist. Compared to 'Millenium', 'Bubble Bath' has lighter purple flowers on larger flower clusters. Compared with the bulb-type varieties that are spring blooming like 'Globemaster', this type of Allium will have smaller, more numerous flower clusters, bloom in summer instead of spring, and have foliage that stays attractive through fall.

Growing and Maintenance Tips

Allium 'Bubble Bath' s a low maintenance, reliable perennial that will attract pollinators. It is easy to grow in average, dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. It performs best in full sun but will tolerate some light afternoon shade. Alliums generally tolerate a wide range of soils including sandy soils but will not grow well in heavy clay. This allium is a true bulb on a stout rhizome that forms a clump which can be lifted and divided in either spring or fall.
