Tall Bearded Iris

Iris 'Abiqua Falls' is a multiple award winner prized for its clear blue color and ruffled blossoms. It represents a significant advancement in this color category for its pristine flower form, vigorous growth habit, and lovely color. The large, sky blue flowers have deeply ruffled and twirled petals. As the flowers age, they take on more of a periwinkle color. Standing just over three feet tall in full bloom, this is a good candidate for the middle of the flower border.

Growing and Maintenance Tips

Bearded Iris require two things to grow well, sun and well drained soil. They will not tolerate wet feet and will rot unless the soil is well drained year around. They will grow in any good garden soil as long as the drainage is adequate. Division is recommended every three years to keep the clumps flowering well. Rhizomes must be planted so that the soil barely covers the top of them.
