Echinacea 'Purple Emperor' is a 2014 introduction that will glow in your garden. The large, saturated magenta purple blooms are produced on sturdy, well branched stems that are in perfect proportion to the bushy clump of deep green foliage. Growing and Maintenance Tips

Coneflowers are the ideal perennial for hot sunny sites. Plant them in shade and they will flop and produce very few flowers. Loamy, well drained soil is ideal to produce the best bloom and winter hardiness. Heavy soils can lead to winter rot. Leave the seed heads to stand for winter food for finches and other birds.
