 Pennisetum purpureum Vertigo

About This Grass

Pennisetum ‘Vertigo’ also known as Pearl Millet is a fantastic annual grass with broad leaves that turn from green to deep purple as the summer progresses. A one gallon pot will produce a spectacular plant by midsummer that will add the “Wow” factor to a container or in ground planting. It is big enough to be used as a specimen but it looks great in mass plantings. Unlike most annual Pennisetums this one does not flower. It is grown solely as a foliage plant. Keep it well fed and watered to get rapid growth because the first hard frost will kill the foliage

Growing and Maintenance Tips

Vertigo' is a rapidly growing annual grass that gets very large very quickly. To reach its potential it needs lots of moisture and a rich soil. It will be killed by the first hard frost so remove
and compost it in late fall.
