Astilbes are valued for their feathery panicles of bloom and their very attractive foliage. They thrive in light shade but will grow in sunnier locations as long as even moisture is provided all summer long. They will not tolerate drought, especially in their first season of growth. Generous amounts of compost dug into the soil will really improve their growth. The flowers are long lasting when cut and the dried seed heads persist in the landscape all winter. The flowers dry well and the foliage is excellent for preserving with a glycerine bath.

Our astilbes are all very large plants of three to five eyes that will bloom the first year. They are bushy , vigorous and well established. Last year the same size plants were selling locally for $15 to $20.

ASTILBE 'PURPLE CANDLES' (PURPURKERZE')
	Deep purple-red plumes are narrow and upright. Good for cutting. Bold and full form with distinctive bronze and green foliage. One of the best tall, late astilbes. Very late. Ht:100 cm (40")

ASTILBE 'BURGUNDY RED'
	Dark red scapes carry raspberry coloured buds which open to burgundy red triangular plumes. As the flowers age they turn a vbrant shade of fuchsia. Glossy deep green finely dissected foliage. Ht: 45 to 50 cm (18-20")

ASTILBE 'COLOUR FLASH'
	A gorgeous variety of Astilbe. The leaves start out brillant green and then change to an intense purple burgundy. The flowers are pale pink and extend about 20 cm above the foliage.

ASTILBE 'COLOUR FLASH LIME'
	In this unique variety the leaves emerge intense gold yellow edged with red and then to light green as the season progresses. If positioned in more sun the leaves will stay a lighter green.

ASTILBE 'DELFT LACE'
	An exciting new variety with deep blue green waxy foliage with a silver overlay. Strong reddish stems add colour and bear more open panicles of delicate peach pink flowers. Ht: 60 to 90 cm (24-36")

ASTILBE 'FIREBERRY'
	From the 'Short and Sweet' series, this new dwarf astilbe features vibrant raspberry pink, diamond shaped plumes. The mid green petite foliage forms a relatively short, finely textured clump. Very nice in containers. Ht: 40 cm (16")

ASTILBE 'VISIONS'
	Considered to be the best Astilbe on the market so far and we agree. Luscious, upright raspberry red plumes are produced in abundance. Deep green horizontal foliage always looks good. Sweetly scented as well! Blooms mid to late season. Ht:38 cm (15")

ASTILBE 'YOUNIQUE WHITE'
	This lovely ivory white astilbe has a very high flower scape count. The plumes are fragrant and triangular in shape. A great new introduction. Ht: 40 to 50 cm (16-20")
