This spring we will have the best selection of plants in the history of the nursery. We have lots of new plant introductions both on the benches and in our test gardens. For example, we are carrying a selection of interesting shrubs including the line of 'Proven Winner' hydrangeas that are hardy in our region. Please visit us and take a look at these and many more wonderful additions to delight you and feed your 'plant lust'. Our daylilies We have concentrated on adding new daylilies that have a high bud count and good repeat bloom. Many of the new 'Designer Daylilies' introduced by Walters Gardens have great bud count, excellent foliage and wonderful plant habit. We have been trialing them in the garden and know you will be really impressed with their performance. Look for the colourful 'Designer Daylily' tags on the varieties in this series. Garden Phlox We are always looking for phlox that are mildew resistant, fragrant and loaded with bloom. We also appreciate the more compact varieties because we realize that not every gardener has lots of space. The 'Dance' series and the 'Pixie' series have been outstanding in our garden trials. Look for them in the display gardens and on the benches. Tiarellas, Heucheras and Heucherellas We are captivated by the charm of the many Tiarellas, Heucheras and Heucherellas now available to gardeners. The flowers get better every year, with more fragrance and longer bloom period. The many patterns on the leaves add great interest to the shade garden. New for this year are Tiarellas 'Neon Lights and 'Spring Symphony' and Heucherella 'Sweet Tea' and 'Golden Zebra'. We have added many new Heucheras as well. A personal favourite of ours is 'Electra' with its vivid gold leaves. Hostas Every year we include some wonderful new hosta introductions but this year is the biggest list of new additions to our on line list. We are again delighted to be able to offer some of Bob Solberg's fine new introductions including 'Curly Fries' and 'Sharp Dressed Man'. These new hostas are well-established plants that will delight the hosta collectors. Look as well for 'Immense' and 'Empress Wu' if you are looking for something big. Peonies Every year we add to our peony collection. This year we have concentrated on unusual single forms and peonies that are shorter and better suited to smaller garden spaces. |
